"A man of many friends comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." Proverbs 18:24
In June 2016 we sold Cedar Pond and moved over the mountains and far away. We now live in Deer Park , WA where the weather is a bit more extreme than Cedar Pond's and in spite of the challenges we're rejoicing in life in our new home with field and forest just outside our back door. God is so good to us !
A kind word lifts my heart,a humorous word makes the day lighter,a word of wisdom gives me perspective,thank-you for your comments. I cannot imagine life without that One very best friend, can you?
ReplyDeleteA postcard picture setting - so glad you were able to enjoy fellowship with friends this weekend. The Lord blesses us with those special best friends who are so in tune with our true selves.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful to share fellowship with your very good friends!!!
ReplyDeleteGod puts such special people in our lives for a reason.
It's always nice to have those special friends, getting ready to hit the road!
ReplyDeleteWonderful homage to friends - they are truly the icing on the cupcake of our lives. (what a poet I am? - or not)
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of Dirt and Lanny's sheep!
ReplyDeleteFriendship truly is a blessing, and one that endures for many years is that much more precious!
Lovely post. Glad you enjoyed time with your friends and get to look at their beautiful sheep.
ReplyDeleteI love the photo of the sheep reflected on the pond, Kathy. So beautiful and peaceful. Friends are one of our biggest treasures, I think.
ReplyDeleteJust loved your lovely words. Where would we be without Jesus? The photo with the sheep's reflection is beautiful. You should enlarge and frame it! So pretty. blessings,Kathleen
ReplyDeleteMary, no I cannot. He will not fail me as I do Him and my friends and family!
ReplyDeleteMildred. Thank-you, and yes! He does!!!!
Shellmo,I agree, He does give us others in our lives , others who enrich our lives.
Amy, finally, you are going to see your family...pictures!!!!
LindaSue, I do love the way you word things, icing on the cupcake of our lives. Makes me hungry! I bet you're fun to listen to.
Paula, to think that D & L don't need to photograph and hang that picture up because their dining room window does that for them!
Noble Pig, thanks, Dirt is my shearer...so he gets to 'enjoy' my sheep too.
Daisy and Kathleen, I am actually thinking about framing that picture! And I just might have to have another go at more photography over there, after I enjoy a cup of tea with Lanny and her daughters...maybe some more of those tea cakes she made!
I so enjoyed your post today! The sheep picture was just the best! Immediately, the verse popped into my mind, "And My sheep hear my voice. . . and they follow Me. . . " Nothing better than the fellowship of old friends!!!!
ReplyDeleteCora
What a lovely tribute to friendship! Thanks for the encouraging words!
ReplyDeleteI see some things I've missed while gone! It's good to be back and finding friends!
Kathy, thanks for the kind words about our friendship. Except that you and Jim are fortunate to have more than one friend such as you describe and even your children are such friends to you. You are a truly blessed couple. The hard thing is that being a friend doesn't give me presto chango powers so that my friends' lives can be idyllic all the time like the picture, I just get to be there with them and hopefully not say the wrong thing.
ReplyDeleteCORA, THANK-YOU!I contemplate that verse all the time, especially with a flock of real sheep to remind me!
ReplyDeleteFlower, you're back ! Oh joy.....I missed your blog!
Lanny, Amen! and ditto!!!!
