I am posting one of my favorite tea parties for this Tea Time Tuesday. My husband's parents enjoyed this tea party by our pond with us and 4 of our granddaughters. They had a wonderful time with the little girls, and the granddaughters loved their great-grandparents. My husband's parents both passed away in the last few months, his mother in November, his father just this January, making this post a bittersweet reminder of good times with loved ones we won't see this side of eternity.
Youngest Granddaughter, and youngest fairy at this tea-party.
The granddaughters requested a Fairy Tea-Party by the pond with their great-grandparents. They were very excited to wear wings and made sure great-grandmother had wings too.
Great-grandma Fairy and Great-grandpa visit with the little fairies. Lots of tea is sipped and the day is perfect for tea by the pond. Not too hot, not too cold, not too windy, no mosquitos or flies. Just a light pleasant breeze and dappled sunshine. Ducks swim by, granddaughters and grandparents laugh, a lot !
Angel food cake with home grown raspberries and whipping cream, all the whipping cream any little or big fairy wanted to put on it.
I caught this fairy mid bite to show you the teacup she chose for the tea party. She declared this was her favorite for the day.
This will be a perfect teacup in which to take tea come late spring when we have trilliums blooming all over our property, especially down by the pond.
The little fairies' Grandpa joins us. He is the oldest son of Great-grandparents. We have a wonderful time enjoying each others' company on such a pleasant day.
The day grows late and it is time for the great-grandparents to head for home. Great-grandma ( the oldest fairy at the tea-party) gets a little help from her oldest son, my husband.
The youngest fairy fell asleep in the swing by the pond.
Please visit these ladies for Teacup Tuesday and Tea time Tuesday. Martha*,Terri*,& .,Sandi *, Bernideen *, Antiques & Teacups *. I have enjoyed these Tea Time Tuesdays very much and thank-you for joining us for tea today.

What a wonderful afternoon! You are an extraordinary grandmother - the memories those little girls will have will be treasures.
what an enchanting tea party.
i loved great grandma in her
wings and the precious little
fairy asleep in the swing.
How sweet! I love times like this and they will always remember it too. My grandma used to make huge tents for me over her cloths line, then she would put pieces of her house furniture in it...we would play out there all day, having a tea party too...times never forgotten! :D
Oh Kathy - I have tears - and DH just got a big smile - the picture of the oldest Fairy with her walker and wings is just pure joy. I agree with Mildred - the thrill of being a tiny part of the prayer army is indescribable. The Fairy Tea Party is one of your very best possible.
What a very special Fairy Tea Party - a wonderful chance for all generations to share tea and love.
Thank you so much for sharing.
Hugs,
Penny

I am almost speechless, with tears in my eyes. I keep thinking how special your family times are, especially the tea parties for the young ladies, and now a fairy tea party with even the most elderly in attendance. Such an honor.

Oh my, what a magical day and a wonderful tea party. That raspberry dessert looks heavenly and quite fitting for such a sweet group of fairies. :)
This is sooooooo sweet! I love that everyone wore their wings! Having tea with the little ones is special... we have a tea with my niece every year.
Fairies? No - definitely angels!
Even Great Grandma looks like she's gonna take off at any moment! Bet she wishes she could and do away with the walker! Someday, she will!
As for the gopher count, I'm up to 6 now, and have a trap set for another. I have your total at 6 also, is that still right? Well, I guess 7 now, correct? I gotta make sure I have it posted right on my side-bar.
If it's seven, then I'm gonna have to step up my game!!!
Pipe fences are a big job. Posts set in concrete, all cross bars are welded. This is all done from oil well pipe. But it'll be there for a 100 years when it's done.
As to the plastic bags - not sure yet, but silver shiny CD's worked pretty good last year - aluminum pie pans work good, too! Good luck with your cherries!
So, so beautiful! I loved visiting today and loved seeing the generations.
Thank you for being a woman after God's own heart and for raising generations to go thou and do likewise.

Hi Kathy, that is a memory to be treasured. My children were lucky to know both their great grandmothers and I know how important and influential those wonderful women remain to them in their psyche. I’m so glad you were able to record this day for your granddaughter fairies. They will grow up with the memories of this magical day. :)

What a priceless tea party! I hope your grandchildren will remember the fairy tea for a long time. Their great grandmother was wonderful wearing the fairy wings and the photos are so pretty. The setting was just gorgeous and the food was perfect for all the fairies.
