Last Days of Summer ....

Summer days with cousins..... frog chasing, tree climbing, running and playing... popsicles, root beer, bicycles, tag...hide n' seek. Swimming, learning to paddle dinghys together, exploring, laughing,
...and the inevitable picture taking Grandmas and Aunties inflict.
My sister Karen's' oldest grandchild with my daughters' 4 children enjoying the last days of summer together, here on Cedar Pond.

  1. Nice to "meet" your sister's grandchild. They all look so happy to be enjoying those simple pleasures that we all have such fond memories of from our own childhood.

  5. Cousins are some of the best friends you will ever have. It is sad to see the summer end but also glad to see the fall enter in. The morning and nights are getting cool here and days are not above 75...we were hoping to take Hunter to an apple orchard but will have to wait to see what baby rolfzen is doing..Then Hunter will have a cousin to play with and make memories.

  6. Summer days and kids - wonderful reminder of those times. We definitely are hearing the whispers of autumn here in Texas - early but welcome this year!

  8. I remember those days spent outside with our cousins. As adults, we still enjoy getting together. We usually don't mind the end of summer anymore. For us in Texas, that usually comes sometime in October-if we are lucky!

  10. Making precious memories. Someday, they'll say... "remember when we were at grandmother's house and we ...?" Won't that make you feel good! It's a good thing to slow down and just take those pictures, whether they like it or not. My daughter didn't much like pictures, but now she says she's so glad I made her. They are such wonderful things to look back on and remember!

I miss those days when I was young doing all those things you mentioned...

  11. Now, I just got done telling KN that we still have almost a whole month left of summer! Let's not end it quite yet! They did have a great time with their cousin and the girls thought it neat that they dressed alike without planning it! Great way to sum up the day with this post!
