Tea Time Tuesday, one of my favorite days. A couple of weeks ago I invited one of our granddaughters and her dolls to tea. She was delighted, she loves to spend time with us, and she loves tea parties! Above is a picture of the Jaymar Toy China Dinner Set we used for the dolls. The teapot ( coffee?) , sugar & creamer in the background are treasures I picked up at a barn sale this past summer, don't they and the toy china set look like they belong together?
The doll cups and saucers were too small for us, so granddaughter and I each chose the teacup we liked best. She likes the yellow butterfly teacup. I like the Japanese Lustreware. These teacups have been featured in other Tea Cup Tuesday posts.
Peanut butter & jam sandwiches with a cherry on top, grapes from our vines, apples from our trees, chocolate chip cookies granddaughter helped bake, accompanied by mint tea. Perfect!
I want to show you the bottoms of the toy set alongside the old pot, sugar and creamer from the barn sale. Both sets were made in Japan, and the lettering is almost a match, except the pot, sugar and creamer have the words "made in occupied Japan".
There is never enough sugar in the tea!
Pouring tea for the dolls, they drank a lot of sugared tea.

Kathy, I clicked on the tea set picture to examine the designs. I wouldn't have noticed the difference. It looks like the paints are the same color. How interesting that it says 'occupied' Japan. I would bet that is collectable. Anyway, your tea partner is adorable. Hope Barbie enjoyed being included in that. I also spied the little homemade cupcakes in the background. Fun, fun, fun!

Your granddaughter is enjoying herself! So many memories! I love the yellow polka dot teapot! All the cups are wonderful! I think the coffee pot looks great with the set!
ReplyDeleteDon't forget I want to buy some sheep! I use to have some for ornaments at one time. I would add them to gifts, instead of using a bow. If my arms would let me I would try making the grands some sheep! I still do not have this years wool washed. Guess I could send it off and have it spun up, since Doc want let me spin. Thanks for joining me for Tea Time. Yes, I used to fly around everywhere. lol I have worn many hats in my life! I have a post on it somewhere. Maybe I should post it and probably add more hats to it! lol I can't wait to tell you about our new adventure! I can hardly contain myself not to tell. lol

Your posts about tea with grandchildren are always lovely. I'll have to introduce the little boys to tea with Nana - I'll need the inducement of lots of cookies, I think!
