These two cuddle on the hearth in front of the wood stove, adding an air of peace and comfort to our home. Who can measure ,really, all the company of a beloved pet adds to our well-being, our sense of contentment? Dogs I know, but cats have never been part of our household due to family allergies. There are two cats that make our out-buildings home, taking care of mice etc, but they don't come in and they don't even come around for food, though I've left it out for them over the years. My brother has a cat, and when I visit him I'm always struck by the peace I feel when the cat jumps into my lap and curls up.

I know some people cringe at the thought of a dog or cat in their bed, but ours sleep with us, and they're more comforting than any medication.

ReplyDeleteKathy, you are so right! There's something so comforting about our animals - they love us no matter what. Us humans should have that no-matter-what kinda love for each other and acceptance all the time - I know most of us do for family, but as Christians we could certainly learn something from our critters. Thank you for this post today. Your critters looks awfully comfortable!
