Tea-Time Tuesday, But Where's the Tea?

It is again 'Tea-Time Tuesday ', and also the time of year around here for daffodils.
This lovely daffodil teacup was obtained by me for the price of some frizzled chickens. Daffodils are a popular flower around here in Western Washington. There are fields and fields of them. We have an annual Daffodil Parade with Daffodil Princesses. This teacup says "MARCH DAFFODIL ", probably assuming the daffodils bloom somewhere, sometime, in March. In our gardens the daffodils did not open their sunny faces until the first week of April. The saucer is so pretty. The lady who traded the teacup for chickens received this teacup from her mother's estate I believe about 20 years ago. There are no other markings on this teacup or saucer, but it appears to my untrained eye to be Lustreware.
Daffodils, teacups, a sunny day ~ delights of the heart & eyes. But this teacup looks so empty and is just calling for...
...CHICKS ! Doesn't everyone put chicks in their teacup?
Cute, little, yellow, fluffy, chicks!
The chicks seem to be looking for something though.
Tea! Hey,where's the tea?
I am sure if you visit the ladies listed below they are showing you their beautiful teacups and probably serving up something delicious along with inspiration. Please be sure to leave them a comment after you've had your tea !

  8. love the vintage tea cup...and the fuzzy little chick just looks so darling in there. We are still waiting on our Daffs, the parade went right by our house last weekend and was so beautiful. They must have been hoarding all the flowers since the fields look rather empty. Thanks for sharing, but lets have real tea sometime?!

We lived in the country years ago and we had geese...got them because a friend gave me 2 goslings as a Mother's Day present...and this reminded me of Gandalf & Geesela! Daffodils are favorite flowers...maybe my favorite...and are blooming beautifully around here. Thnaks for your post!

  13. Dear One, May you have a delightful Spring!
    Your post is truly sweet!

The chicks are so cute. We stopped by a store last week that had chick days and we looked at the chicks and hens. Bunnies as well.

Daffs cause me to look for signs of spring and when they pop through the soil, it warms my heart! The tulips follow and the lilacs follow, then irises.

The tea cup is so pretty and sipping out of this would be uplifting. Remembering the daffs!

    God bless,
    d

  14. Tea cups are just the most special thing!!! So elegant, with a feel of being special and important. I can remember as a teenager, I always bought my stepmom a teacup for her birthday and Christmas. It grew to be quite a collection. And you can't go wrong with adding chicks to the daffodil theme. They are just the cutest!!!!! Boy, would I love to have a cup of tea with you. It would be the loveliest thing!
