Kathy - I believe this date will always be an emotional memory. Your post is very touching. One memory I have from that time was during the superbowl (I don't watch), but I did see the bud commercial when those beautiful Clydesdale horses bowed toward the Twin Towers.

I am having lots of feelings this morning. I remember very well being on a van fun of children and having to return to school. We listened on the radio to the events as they unfolded...very emotional. Nicely done Kathy.
ReplyDeleteCan we ever forget that fateful morning? I think it will forever be etched in our memories. Hugging my kids close. Not letting them go for a long while. Gathering my older ones home. Even for just a short while. Praying. A lot.
ReplyDeleteI had flown over Manhattan just two weeks before and seen the towers for the first time. It made the horror so much more real to me on 9/11. I pray for all those who grieve and for our nation today.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been back to NYC in all these years. I'll never forget the horror of the realization that it wasn't a bad movie, because in that split second that was all my mind could deduce.
ReplyDeleteOur town is having it's annual celebration and craft show at the local park with parade and carnival. I haven't seen anything to commemorate 9/11. For many people, it's as if it never happened. I remember and prayed this morning for those who are hurting in a personal way today; who lost loved ones. And I prayed to thank God for the safety we've enjoyed since then and for more of the same. Our president said we are not at war with Islam. Perhaps he should address that speech to the Muslims instead of Americans who were the victims of that attack.

ReplyDeleteWe will never forget... My husband was watching on the TV at work, he called me to turn on the TV. I sat down on the couch and did not move for the rest of the day and watched in horror at the events that unfolded that day. I cried, I did not eat, I didn't even get up til hubby got home from work. We will never forget our heroes.

ReplyDeleteHi Kathy, I will never forget being at my parents former home with my mother while John was at work when the terrorists attacked. I remember describing to her what was happening as I watched in horror as the second plane hit. May God bless America.
