Sisters!

Two of my sisters treated me to dinner tonight in celebration of my birthday. I got my special birthday goblet tonight, one more sister will receive her goblet on her birthday just after Christmas when we will fly to Hawaii for a week together celebrating sisterhood. Our baby sister lives too far away to visit us often so our adventure together will be fun. Here we are with our baby sister, she is only a few days old in this picture. "A sister is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost." Marion Garretty Again, the 4 of us in our front yard in Hawaii, many years ago. ( I am on the far left) "Children of the same family, the same blood, with the same first associations and habits, have some means of enjoyment in their power which no subsequent connections can supply..." Jane Austen Our last sister's get together 2 years ago, here we are posed in birth order starting with me (Left), the oldest AND the shortest, to the baby, the tallest! "You keep your past by having sisters. As you get older, they're the only ones who don't get bored if you talk about your memories." Deborah Moggach
Thank-you Sisters! I love you~

  2. Belated birthday wishes!!! How fortunate you are to have 3 sisters--I have only one and no brothers either! There's a downside to small families, but oh, well. How wonderful to be looking forward to a Hawaii trip! It's on my bucket list!

  3. Happy Birthday! Sisters are the best and you did a great post.
I have one sister who lives 2000 miles away and we talk all the time and try to get together once a year, sometimes we can't and I always miss her.

  4. Very glad you had such a nice time for your birthday. Lucky to be close to your sisters too! My son moved to Hawaii about a year ago from Colorado; he is with Lockheed. I miss being able to see them often.
The shop you went to looks so inspiring. We do not have such shops around here. Maybe I need to take an exploring trip to different towns and see what I can find.
    Oh and happy birthday! /Deb

  7. Oh yeah Kathy - I posted a picture (from 2007) of me playing the piano on my rug hooking blog. Also, I put the info about my CD on the post because I'm not sure anyone can find the "page" of the blog. /deb

  8. Happiest of birthdays to you, Kathy!
What a blessing to be able to share that time with your sisters! My only sibling, my sis, passed away 8 years ago, and boy, oh boy, I sure do miss her. Especially the times we would talk about our OWN memories together.
    Good times, for sure!

  13. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Wow, you are really blessed having three sisters. I love your sister quotes. I don't have a sister, but I do have a best friend who is like a sister, we just don't have the history of our childhood (I wish we did).

Hawaii...woo hoo, won't that be fun, and to visit your baby sister too.

I love the pictures....4 pretty sisters!

  14. What a lovely idea, to have a holiday together. Happy Birthday! I don't have any sisters and seeing you all together and reading your post, made me feel wistful. What a lot I have missed over the years! Of course, what you've never had, you don't miss except sometimes, like now!
Lovely pictures. Long may you be happy together.
    Blessings, Star

  15. Kathy, we are very blessed to have one another - to share in the good times and the more challenging times as well. I love our "sister" times and look forward to celebrating Karen's birthday next, followed by Tricia's BIG birthday in Hawaii. Remember - Hawaii 5-0!

You're so lucky to have sisters. They're a gift from God.

Happy Birthday...! And many, many, many more.
