Tea Time Tuesday ~Royal Albert Dorchester Series

Tea time Tuesday is here again and I am having tea in my weed filled herb garden. Do you think weeds might have herbal qualities? Maybe I should check up on that, I might be wasting energy and time weeding needlessly. Anyway, back to teacups. Here is my teacup, from the Royal Dorchester Series. I had mint tea of course, but we are not growing mint in the herb garden, it would take over. The mint is growing near the front porch steps. Did I mention my herb garden is very weedy? My husband and I spent most of our weekend working in our gardens because this was the first nice weekend ( weather wise) we have had since last October. The weeds don't seem to mind the wet and cold weather and apparently partied all winter and spring. They invited their families and friends too. The extremely wet, cold winter and spring took their toll on my rosemary bush, and also killed off much of my thyme and sage. Why not the weeds too? I suppose my chickens & sheep are happy with the weeds as we toss wheelbarrow loads of them into their pens. The sheep and chickens gobble them up like kids eating ice cream and candy. Oh, sorry, back to my teacup. This teacup is from a series made by Royal Albert. The Dorchester series consists of 6 cups and saucers , each a different color. This is the only one in that series I own but I do covet the teal set. Please enjoy Tea Time Tuesday by clicking onto the links below . You will see some very pretty tea cups, tea parties, and tea times...maybe even some lovely WEED FREE gardens. Good Morning Kathy, Such a beautiful cup/saucer and the mint tea sounds very refreshing. I admire your pretty blue birdbath in the background of one photo. We have had several days over 100 degrees and need rain badly. It has been a most unusual Spring all around the country!
Blessings to you and yours this day.

Royal Albert makes such beautiful china. I love the color on this Dorchester cup and sauce. Lovely! How nice to have tea in your yard. I'm sure your critters are enjoying the weeds. May I send my weeds to them?!!!! :D :D :D Happy Tea Day!

Someone once told me that spider webs in the house are evidence that I have more important things to do than clean webs.....I wasn't convinced of the truth of this, but I could apply it to weeds!
I smiled at the image of you dumping the weeds over to the sheep - our goats are fussy, but they love broom and blackberry vine, so they are feasting as I pull!
Lovely teacup - it's one I haven't seen.

That's a very unusual cup and saucer. I don't think I've seen it before. I like the colours on it.
I also grow mint in a container and it's bursting out if it can. I have a peppermint in there somewhere and when I am sitting on my garden seat, sipping tea, I like to play with the leaves and sniff my fingers to get the scent.
I should imagine that mint tea would taste very good out of that pretty cup!

Hi Kathy - beautiful cup and saucer. I'll bet tea just tastes better in beautiful china! Mint - mmmm - I love it, too, but it WILL get away from you if you let it! I like to have never gotten rid of it on the side of my house!

Wow, wet weather there. It's already over 100 here in Texas and dry and crispy. Hoping to get most of my garden harvested before everything dries up completely! Gophers have headed WAY underground and we won't see much of 'em til we get a good long rain!

I hope you have a wonderful week!

Hi Kathy,
What a gorgeous teacup! I just love the colour of it! The trouble with weeds is they don't mind the heat or the cold around here and it has been too wet and cold for Hubby to get out to pull them. Thanks for sharing your pretty tea cup with us at Tea Time and have a lovely day.

Blessings,
Sandi

If only the herbs and flowers could be as strong as the weeds.......

The color and shape of the cup and saucer are so pretty.
Wishing I were having mint tea with you!

Lovely china!
So pretty!
Using such pretty china has surely got to make you feel extra special.

Mint adds something to tea especially in this ole heat wave we're having in Kansas.

That's a lovely cup and saucer, Kathy. We've been battling weeds here too. We had so much rain early on and now the heat is keeping us inside. I hope you are having a good week! :)

What a pretty teacup and saucer! Love the colors! You tea setting in the garden is beautiful. Since most peple have no clue the difference between weeds and herbs, go ahead and just tell them those weeds ae some old time herb. :)

I extremely like the red in your tea cup. I am having the same trouble with weeds. And I am replanting my mint in a pot and out of my raised herb beds. I also have some chocolate mint in a pot. The flavor of it is delightful. Thank you for sharing today.

Yep, I have a few weeds I could send to the critters also. Maybe we could use a few weeds in our tea. We could read tea weeds instead of tea leaves, lol....

Kathy, I have a very consoling book, all about the medicinal and nutritional values of common weeds. And I've read in some of my eco-farming books about how it is hard on soils to be naked. It has helped me embrace my weediness. Unless of course it is that durn buttercup, then my mood changes from acceptance to....

Oh my~ that is such a beautiful cup and saucer, Kathy.
I got a chuckle from the image in my mind of your sheep and chickens eating all those weeds.

hi Kathy!
Sweet blessings to you today.
Drat the weeds...they are abundant in my yard. A type of clover has taken over one area.

Thinking of plowing the yard under and planting grass this autumn.

Lovely cup and saucer and i can imagine mint tea!
delicious.

God bless,
d
