Colclough Tea-Cups & Autumn

As I perused my teacup collection today I realized some of my teacups may vary greatly in color, but their shapes and handles were remarkably alike. It appears they are all made from the same mold, doesn't it ?
This ivy teacup is perfect for Christmas table-settings and teas, don't you think ?
Although I do not have the matching saucer, this teacup and saucer seem to go together well, and the delicate yellow with blossoms makes me happy.
This is one of a set of 4 teacups that are favorites of mine. The pale robin's egg blue with delicate gold scroll  flowers is one I use frequently.
This must be the reason all of these teacups are so similar, they are all made by Colclough * . "They ( Colclough China ) were the first company to produce fine bone china for the every day market which was marketed by the piece, ruling out the need for large sets to be purchased first."  ~'Focus On Colclough'

One of my very favorite teacups though was made by one of my granddaughters and presented to me as a birthday card this month. I think she knows I love chickens AND teacups !

The rains and cold weather have arrived and I am happy about it. Cool weather means an end to the hot weather I don't do too well in, and also an end to the constant need for garden & yard upkeep. Now I can begin to move my activities indoors. Now I can enjoy needlecraft, spinning, weaving, sewing, scrap-booking, and simply reading, before our  fireplace . Time to cozy up indoors with a cup of hot tea, my husband, my 2 cats, our dogs. Autumn, my favorite season, has arrived !

Join these ladies too for even more cozy tea-times and lovely teacups ~

Oh your birthday card is adorable! I love all the tea cups, how many do you have. I only have about a dozen but I love to find pieces here and there even if they don't match. They are just so special, I don't think the younger generations gets that!

Your tea-cups are so pretty. I favor the not so matchy yellow one. What a sweet card from your grand-daughter. She must have had fun making that so special just for you. I love the Fall, too. It's perfect weather. Deb

Being an old ceramic teacher, I was very interested in your comment about the handles on you Colclough cups. It appears that they are a "stick on" handle, that means they were attached after they were poured, and "one size fits all". This time of year I really miss my ceramic shop! I don't have a single cup and saucer. I do collect mugs, though

Hi Kathy:
I too love your teacups! The ivy one would be my favorite. Years ago in Texas I would order tea time take out from a Tea Room and they always sent it over on an Ivy place, Your post is wonderful and I am so glad you shared at Friends Sharing Tea!

The homemade birthday card is so cute. I like your shared teacups today too, Colclough produces some nice ones.
Autumn is my favourite season and I'm ready to cozy up with a neglected book myself.

That Birthday card is precious, Kathy! Your Colclough teacups are all very pretty. I was looking at a pink one like your blue one over the weekend and was very tempted to buy it. But I didn't. I am trying to limit my purchasing of teacups and teapots these days. Running out of room. Oh, but I love them. Thank you for sharing and coming to tea. Happy Autumn!

Blessings,
Sandi

Your granddaughter's card is wonderful! I always enjoy your pretty tea cups. Did you see my tea bag buddy that I blogged about recently?
Autumn is my fav time of year, too.
We had a few trees to fall recently and just had tree trimmers here today.
Wishing you a nice weekend.

Happy belated birthday and may your year be wonderful.

I am hoping Autumn will be a season for us to get caught up on so much that needs attention.
Your lovely teacups would be a delight to sip from.

I so agree, I am so happy that fall time is here. What a lovely collection of tea cups. How many teacups do you have in all? Do you display them on one shelf or do you have them scattered throuhout your home?

Your teacup collection is beautiful. But that card...priceless! I have a paper my niece gave me years ago when I was sick on thanksgiving and she drew honeybees on it. Adorable. I wanted to transfer the design to some material and make a pillow out of it. Maybe I will...this winter...when I have time to sit and snuggle in.

Such pretty teacups. I'm glad you were able to find a suitable match for the "orphan" pieces.
