Teacups & Trucks

Look, we went shopping for a teacup and brought home a truck! Can you see the teacup on the hood of our new ( used ) truck ?
My husband's car was totaled, as in smashed, killed, crumpled, in a wreck a week ago. Fortunately no one was hurt seriously or killed but the cars involved, and the wreck was not my husband's fault. Unfortunately, he really liked his car and now we had to go out and find a new vehicle to replace it. On our search we stopped at an antique store along the way. As my back was still in pain my husband helped me out of our rental car and I hobbled along beside him to stroll through the store. Now how kind is that? My husband even lifted teacups up off shelves for me. We both decided we liked this cheerful cup and saucer, and it's price.
Paragon , By Appointment, England
The colors of the cup and saucer compliment the color of the truck, don't you think? As you can see, after we bought the teacup and went on our way we discovered and bought a truck we were very pleased with . We drove it home, the truck, not the teacup.
The underside of the saucer reads "Paragon, By Appointment to H.M. The Queen & H.M. Queen Mary" Fine Bone China, England, registered "
Oh I really like our new teacup and truck! I will probably always remember this as my truck teacup. Do you think my husband would have ever thought he would be shopping for teacups the same day he shopped for a truck?
I love him so much! He is sure I'm nuts, posing a teacup on the new truck , but he puts up with me anyway. I’m glad nobody was seriously hurt in the accident. We just never know where the day will lead us--sometimes from a cup to a truck. Life is good. Have a great week!

Kathy, you're so funny and I do like that teacup and saucer. It has an old fashioned "regal" look to it. Of course, it was designed for H.M.!
Sorry about the accident, yet so thankful that your husband was not injured. We were hit and totaled in a highway accident in 2004. I had a physical therapist names 'Conan' pronounced like the TV late night host. However I called him KONAN like the cartoon hero because he was mean to me and made me do painful exercises. From said accident I remodeled my house. God works in mysterious ways. Hope your back feels better soon.
Hugs, Deb

That is a nice truck-so glad your husband is okay. It was sweet of your husband to antique shop with you and get down the cups you wanted to look at. Lots of memories will be associated with that cup and saucer.

If someone were to ask me - I'd say that teacup go with every thing. Lifting your new teacup in celebration of the new truck makes perfect sense to me.

Your new cup is truly lovely.

The new truck also looks pretty darn good.

Glad no one was hurt in the accident.

Hugs,
Penny

Oh dear, I remember when Jim had his new car up camping for the first time, back when we were in D loop.

If you remember your purchase as the truck tea cup will Jim remember his as the teacup truck?

I know your back will be better soon but probably not by this weekend, the weather is going to be dry for a change, so you'll just have to sit in a chair while we rustle up your sheep and get them sheared and bagged up for you.

I love it! Your dear husband sounds a lot like my Great Dane.
I'm glad no one was hurt in the accident, but I'm still concerned about your back. Are you seeing a physiotherapist for it?

Hi Kathy - I'm sorry your back is still bugging you. And so thankful that your hubby is okay!!!! Now that's a nice truck - and a BLUE truck - in fact, it's nearly the same color as the truck that my husband had a few years ago. I love it!

Your truck teacup is lovely, too. I love when they include yellow on a pretty cup like that. Yellow is just so cheerful! Have a blessed day, my friend!

Your new truck is fab, but I love your new tea cup more!
Yellow cups are always a fav for me, and this one is so cheery. I love Paragon too, so this cup is really a winner!

How sweet helped you from the truck, and also reached for the lovely teacup! I love this pattern so much, I have seen it, for my Mother had this pattern on some china long ago. Do not know what happen to them. I do like your new truck, Great for the farm, and carrying feed! And Teacups! lol We wanted to buy a new truck, for we have two older ones now. But instead we bought a store/cafe, and soon a tearoom. So for now no new truck shall come our way! lol Hoping your feeling better, and so happy no one was hurt! Thank you for joining me for Tea Time! I do love your Teacup!

Things can be replaced, people cannot. So glad only the vehicles died in the wreck. I think your teacup on the hood of your new truck is delightful in that the spirit you show a week after such an event is so inspiring to me. In fact, stopping at the antique store on the way is the kind of thing my husband and I would do. To top it off, your teacup is just lovely. Spring-like. Hope your back is better and safe travels in the new truck.

dearest faraway friend: just popping by to see if all's OK. thinking of you both during my pilgrimage through the southernmost tip of the world. no teacups here unfortunately since it is rugged country although today we heard of an antiques fair in a little nerby town. the truck is beautiful and don't the english make the best prettiest cups for five o'clock?

So glad no one was hurt as well, wow! I really like the color of the 'new' truck, so nice and cheery. LOVE seeing all the beautiful teacups too. This one is especially grand as it is bone china from England which I have been inspired to look for each time I go to the second-hand stores. I have to be very patient and my finds are always a mismatch of different patterns, but it fits who I am right now and I like that. :)

Oh goodness, Kathy, I am so glad nobody was seriously injured.

Your statement, that he puts up with you, true love. Nothing like having your best friend support you.

Sometimes I wonder how my dear man puts up with me...but then I remember, for better or for worse. None of us are perfect.

Love the truck and the tea cup. Oh yes, I agree, they do match. :)

Kathy, your humorous and cheery demeanor is delightful. I am sorry about the accident, but very happy hubby is safe.

Speaking of cheery, that is exactly what your new cup/saucer is! The bright sunny yellow, and sweet roses is enough to lift the spirits.

I'm glad you were able to get a new 'ride'. It's a true blue haven.

Your back should heal soon with such a life-loving attitude.

Many blessings to you both,
Marianne
