Cat-Free Guest Room ?

This is our guest bedroom. New carpeting, completely new bedding for this bed & the built-in beds in the alcove. ( not shown ) New curtains, new paint. The closets and bureaus are empty to accommodate guests' needs. Low lights by all the beds for night time reading. The best part of our new room is we are keeping it cat free because we have so many visiting friends & family who are seriously , almost life- threateningly allergic to cats. Well, Blizzard, our cat, is making this hard to do. He can open doors, and he intends to make himself at home in this "new" bedroom.

All we can promise is the bedding will be completely laundered if our cat-sensitive friends & family visit and they can lock the bedroom door when they retire for the evening. Otherwise they'll find Blizzard sleeping with them. He's friendly and loves to share himself with everyone .

Hi Kathy, Your guest room is very welcoming. Did you make the leaf rug by the bed? I love your sheep and the duck art work. Best of all, I love Blizzard. Hope you have a nice weekend.
I'm taking time off from my blog to take care of dental work.

Hi Kathy: I would have to keep the door closed at all times around here with 5 felines who think the world belongs to them (and kinda does). I am trying to type with Annie lying across my hands right now. Your guest room is so cozy and love the little chair frames. So cute.

I love your cozy room!!! My workshop is in the basement and I keep Hubbys workshop door closed in the winter because it has no heat open if he has a project. I have caught Badger jumping up and hitting the doorknob with his paw to get in there. Cats want what they want, lol....

Your furry friend I believe wants to be the guest. Looks fresh and relaxing. I'm sure your guest will feel right at home.

it is a real issue - some people have severe allergies and it is rough to enjoy a visit when you can't breathe properly! the room is gorgeous - certainly welcoming but perhaps a simple latch type lock that Blizzard can't open would help? as always your home decor just charms the heck out of me - always says "WELCOME" even to felines

The room looks lovely, Kathy. It's so warm and inviting. I can't blame Blizzard for wanting to be a part of it. :)

Linda Sue, I think we will install such a lock to prevent Blizzard from gaining access to the room. I dearly love Bliz, but even more-so family & friends. The opportunity to have precious friends & family stay a spell with us without threatening their health is important to us. The option for them to escape cat allergens & sleep peacefully in our home when we've been blessed with their company, without threat to their health matters to us. Great idea. So simple I shoulda thought of it myself !

Blizzard looks so good in that room and he looks like he knows he looks good -grin-. Kathy, I'm thankful I haven't serious allergies, it would kill me to not sleep with my dogs. Your guest room is beautiful, so warm and cozy.

That room looks very cheery, warm and comfortable. I used to have a cat that looked very much like Blizzard. So pretty.
