Christmas in the kitchen around here makes me happy. Even if I am not baking or entertaining guests the kitchen is full of cheerful reminders of this season. Some of the things in my Christmas kitchen have been with us for many years and bring with them happy memories.
This Santa cookie jar needs to be filled with cookies. The butter is out for softening at room temperature so my husband can bake his Berry Butternuts * , jam thumbprint cookies his father made every year and now my husband continues the tradition for our family. I also make *sugar cookies every year using my favorite recipe from many years ago. Often I wait to make and bake these cookies when I have grandchildren over a few days before Christmas.
This teapot is my hot cocoa pot, and the goose mugs are for serving lots of hot chocolate with marshmallows during the Christmas season. We received the mugs as gifts from my husband's parents many years ago. We got the teapot after his parents died. This set always remind us of my husbands' parents and their love of celebrating Christmas with family.
My Santa sugar bowl and creamer. I made these the first year my husband and I were married and have brought these two out every Christmas season. They sit beside the coffee pot ready for guests needing real cream and sugar in their coffee or tea. There are so many good memories surrounding these little Santa accessories , and the privilege of being able to serve coffee, tea, coco, and so much more to family and friends over the years is not taken for granted by my husband and me. God has been generous with us in the gift and blessings of so much family and so many good friends.
My Christmas kitchen is ready again for company and full of sweet reminders of Christmases past. Christmas kitchen memories of good times gone by and the glimmer of new memories in the making.

In June 2016 we sold Cedar Pond and moved over the mountains and far away. We now live in Deer Park , WA where the weather is a bit more extreme than Cedar Pond's and in spite of the challenges we're rejoicing in life in our new home with field and forest just outside our back door. God is so good to us !

Thank you for sharing your lovely memories. Each time I read a post like this, I glance around and see all the items around me that bring back memories of Christmas past, spent with those I love, and that warms my heart. Merry Christmas.
Your decorations are very pretty! I love the Santa creamer and sugar! And of course your wee sheep make wonderful decorations!
Your cookie recipes sound delicious. I love those jam thumbprint cookies. And sugar cookies. The butternut ones sound lovely too.
Thanks again for putting our names into your draw for those sweet sheep.
Wishing you a beautiful day...

I meant to comment every day as I really want to win your gorgeous sheep. I was telling you a funny story about our encounters with sheep in the Lake District in England, but then Nature intervened. I don't know if it made the news in the US, but Cumbria has been hit with terrible floods. Even though sheep moved themselves to high ground there have been landslides and flash floods and hundreds of sheep have been lost. I can hardly bear to watch the news. It's heartbreaking to see farmers in tears, because of all their lost sheep, and of course most of the ewes were due to lamb in just a few weeks, Sorry , I know this isn't very Christmassy, but to anyone who loves sheep it's been such a heartwrenching time. Blessings
Cute Christmas decorations!
Amy
I can smell the cookies baking:) It's times like those in our memories that last forever! Enjoy your day dear friend, BIG HUGS!
I loved reading the stories behind each of your lovely kitchen Christmas decorations.
I've got some Christmas baking to do myself. Can't believe it is next week already.
Have a lovely Christmas dear Kathy ~ FlowerLady
Love your kitchen full of memories!! And, oh yes, I would LOVE to win those wee little sheep!
Christmas is such a time for memory. Everything I pull out of the boxes seems to have a story behind it.
I'd love to win one of your sweet sheep.
Isn't it sweet how most of our memories come out of a kitchen? I remember when the ribbon geese were popular and I still have a couple of glass storage jars - the teapot and mugs are adorable.
Merry Christmas Kathy.
Your Wee Little Sheep are just so cute. You are so very clever!!
I love all your kitchen décor. So festive. My favorite is the shepherd with the lamb. My Shepherd has carried me more times than I even know.
Those cookies sound great ...

Your Christmas kitchenware is so sweet, and so are the memories they hold for you. They are wonderful treasures to help you celebrate the season.
I love all your sweet little Christmas kitchen items - I think I used to have those snowmen salt and pepper shakers many moons ago....I probably lost them in the divorce along with a bunch of other items. Life goes on....and it's peaceful now.
What nice treasures abound your kitchen. Hugs, LJ
