"An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up." Proverbs 12:25
" Worrying is carrying tomorrow's load with today's strength - carrying two days at once. It is moving into tomorrow ahead of time. Worrying doesn't empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength." Corrie Ten Boom
"Nothing is permanent in this wicked world - not even our troubles. " Charlie Chaplin
"Anxiety is a thin stream of fear trickling through the mind. If encouraged , it cuts a channel into which all other thoughts are drained." Arthur Somers Roche

Thank you for this post. I'm not sleeping well, which makes me tired all day, which makes little things seem huge. Besides the worries of the world, I have a lot on my mind. I was reading blogs, trying to get back to sleep. I think I'll cast my cares and be able to fall back to sleep. Good night!

Good post and cute sheep!

Joy to the World is one of my Favorites:) Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!
Hi Kathy; How I love your little sheep. I have just been told my parcel arrived. :) Enjoy your day preparing for Christmas. It is a wonderful time of year. Deb
Lovely post with positive, uplifting thoughts. Our pastor preached on Jesus being the Light of the world yesterday, and how we are to be a light to all of those around us. Jesus is our strength, our hope, our joy, our peace.
Happy baking and singing ~ Love, hugs & prayers ~ FlowerLady
Those sheep are darling! Oh yes, please enter me in the giveaway. :-) Such good quotes re. worrying. We have everything we need for today. Many blessings. - Judy.
So I was just poking around your blog a bit more and saw your beautiful German Shepherd. Sigh. I miss my shepherd so much. Bridger was my protector and pal for 12+ years, a long-haired GSD. And you watch British mysteries too? We're huge fans of British mysteries. And now I'm trying to add you to my Feedly reader so I can easily follow your blog, but I had to write to Feedly who seems to be having a problem this morning! Have a wonderful day. Pet your dog for me, please. :-)
It is indeed a very sad time for many people. I cannot imagine how awful it must be to be a refugee with no home left to live in. Hope is what keeps them going I suppose.
Like you I am preparing for Christmas and hoping it will be a peaceful one.
Ha! Singing carols can really make those worries go away!
How I covet that beautiful sheep at the head of your post. I know it's wrong and I'm sorry. It's so hard to find pretty sheep when you love sheep like I do. Of course mine are all collectables, as I live in town.
What you say is so true about the news. And yet we as believers must let the present season calm us and remind us that we have a future not dependent on the government (which shall be on HIS shoulders) or elections or anything but our faith. I loved the scriptures and quotes you chose to frame your message. That Corrie Ten Boom was quite a gal.
Please enter my name in the drawing, as a gal cannot have too many sheep! :D
Merry Christmas again!
Debbie
Thanks so much for the reminder. I needed this today. :-)
A lovely, joyful post! I do sing loudly to drown out the woes that want to creep in, and I love Joy to the World for sure.
Enjoyed my visit ... and catching sight of your sweet sheepies again!

The world is so broken. Joy to the World's words and message are most apropos. I love the idea of singing it to banish the blues that can come with thinking about all the sin and evil in the world.
This post is full of wisdom and joy. I bet your sugar cookies taste all the better because you were feeling joyful while baking them. Wishing you and your family much peace and joy during this holiday season.
I haven't heard that last quote, very true. Love your sheep!! Don't put me in the drawing, though, because I have two, and I want someone else to have the joy of having some!
I would love to be entered in your giveaway for the sheep. :) I love singing Christmas carols too. :)
Love,
Ashley

Great post!
I hate to appear greedy ... but I really hope I win. hee hee I absolutely love your wee little sheep.
Great quotes, Kathy. We have HOPE!! Have a wonderful week.
My favorite carol to sing at the top of my lungs is "Oh Holy Night" - I remember being a young teen in the church folk group and being chosen to sing the big solo - and that was the song I was to sing. Oh boy, my knees were shaking up on the altar, as was my voice - I was so frightened!! Wonderful memories of peaceful Christmas times.
