In June 2016 we sold Cedar Pond and moved over the mountains and far away. We now live in Deer Park , WA where the weather is a bit more extreme than Cedar Pond's and in spite of the challenges we're rejoicing in life in our new home with field and forest just outside our back door. God is so good to us !

Yikes , What a Year ! ( There's always hope for the coming year.)
Yikes, and how was your year? I hope your year was one enabling you to take not only the good, but the bad and all the in-between with a perspective allowing for optimism and hope. Optimism because this world can be a rough place, a sad place, a place of fear , worry, and evil, but in spite of all this, it is a world of beauty , kindness, small mercies...fun,laughter, and hope."we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ...and we exult in hope of the glory of God, and not only this, but we exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance , proven character, hope ; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us." Romans 5:1,3-5

Hello from Kansas!
It looks like you had a very blessed and full December month with a wonderful Christmas!
I visited your last few post and they are wonderful. Your home is lovely to share with others in fellowship.
May 2012 be full of God's blessings.

Perseverance - may we all persevere.
Your great nephew looks like he is saying Yikes! He is a cutie and your home looked warm and inviting.
My year was good yet ended with my heart being broken. I am so ready for healing to begin and it probably has but I'm yet too stunned to know.
My word for 2011 was breath; little did I know how apt it would be. My words for 2012 are peace and balance; I'm going to strive for both.
May the worst of 2012 be from the best of 2011; Happy New Year from Thistle Cove Farm.
Kathy and Family:
Thank you for visiting my blog. May you know the fullness of Christ, the fellowship of His suffering, and the power of His resurrection in your lives in this coming year as never before. Glad to gave companions on this narrow road, with Jesus as our Companion and Guide!

I love the picture to go with your title!
It was a full year, wasn't it? I hope that the new year will find me up to the challenges and joys to come!
2012 - I plan for it to be a better year than 2011 - keeping in mind I planned the same for 2011 after 2010 -my plans and the world's results seem to have trouble coinciding - but a girl can hope!
Great picture --
That is such a cute picture, Kathy. This year has been one of ups and downs for me too. I suppose every year is. Happy New Year to you and yours. Wishing you all good things in 2012. :)
We definitely had some wonderful things happen this last year. On the other hand, I had a few friends and family members experience serious illnesses. I pray for many blessings this upcoming year...especially since my son is getting married in the Spring. The important thing is to look everyday for the good things that are around us. Happy New Year to you and your family Kathy.

Hi Kathy - sweet picture of your family! Looks like they are waiting to open presents and I know how impatient those little ones can be for that! May the Lord bless and keep you and your precious family in the coming year! Good post!
Hi Kathy! Thanks so much for the inspiration and for the Biblical perspective. No matter what comes our way, Jesus loves us and the Lord is there.
God bless and Happy New Year!
Kathy M.
