Tea In The Herb Garden

It was a perfect day to work in the herb garden. What better refreshment than peppermint tea after weeding ?
I have been reading up on tea, especially herbal teas, and discovered the beverage I make from my herbs is actually called an "infusion". Real tea is made from the leaves of tea plants. (the tea plants are actually shrub sized trees )
 This is my new teacup.

Royal Grafton Bone China, made in England.
There is a lot more weeding to be done, so I had better get back to work.
"Mint ~ The savor or smell rejoyceth the heart of man, for which cause they use to strew it in chambers and places of recreation, pleasure, and repose, and where feasts and banquets are made." John Gerard

Spearmint & peppermint are wonderful for soothing a troubled tummy, and also good for colds & headaches. It is especially appreciated at the tea parties I have with my grandchildren, they will consume pots of this hot tea with pleasure. ( we won't discuss how much sugar they use to sweeten the tea )

Please enjoy the blogs listed below as they share their teatimes & teacups :
"Tending a bed or border devoted to these herbs ( mints ) can be as calming or soothing after a stressful day as a cup of the steaming brew or tall glass of iced tea made from their leaves and flowers." Susan McClure

Dear Kathy - So good to hear from you! If I was out west I might just be delighted to host a teatime with you and your friends! Glad you were blessed. I do tea for sharing - and tea for just me with the pretties all around - I'm visual that way. The Lord gave us such visual beauties in nature - just being like "Daddy" . . .

Your garden and herbs are a treasure - ours is not so much this year. Will have to post on that coming up.

Joy!
Kathy

last week I was doing my tea and couldn't find one of my tea cups. I had been looking for teapot to match a couple of cups and saucers that I had and then I found the teapot and the cup was lost. It's the same one you posted today, I didn find mine. Had it all the time but was looking for little roses on the outside.Enjoyed your post, God bless...

Kathy, I love, LOVE your herb garden. I grow mint for mint tea in mine. Have you ever tried the chocolate mint? Kerstie gave me a plant last year and I've loved the tea from it. I love how herb tea is called in France: Tisane. Always sounds so elegant when Hercule Poirot says it. :)
