"And in despair I bowed my head : "There is no peace on earth," I said, " For hate is strong , and mocks the song Of peace on earth good will to men."
" Yet pealed the bells more loud and deep : God is not dead nor doth He sleep ; The wrong shall fail , the right prevail, with peace on earth good will to men"
"Then ringing , singing on its way ,The world revolved from night to day - a voice, a chime, a chant sublime of peace on earth, good will to men." * I Heard the Bells On Christmas Day ~ hymn by Henry Longfellow, music by Jean Baptiste Calkin
* Pictures taken in the hidden places around Cedar Pond.
In June 2016 we sold Cedar Pond and moved over the mountains and far away. We now live in Deer Park , WA where the weather is a bit more extreme than Cedar Pond's and in spite of the challenges we're rejoicing in life in our new home with field and forest just outside our back door. God is so good to us !

Your hidden places are delightful and the poem is a favorite of mine. I quote another Bells poem on my blog today, from Alfred Lord Tennyson. We are on the same wave length.
Wonderful photos and a great bit of poetry.
I love the colors of the birdhouse. Just wonderful.
Have a lovely week there on Cedar Pond.

I love that moss-covered tree, kind of magical, I think. And a beautiful poem of hope.
Have a good week Kathy. Thanks for your kind comment on my blog.
Thank you for that perfect poem. I love the "Wads" (Henry Wadsworth Longfellow). I have a volume of his poems and epics. Your pictures are lovely. Looks quite cozy there on Cedar Ponds.
Blessings for a wonderful year,
Marianne

Hi, Kathy
Thank you for stopping by my blog with comments about the art district murals of Los Angeles. I too, felt some of the artwork was 'disturbing'; typical of the world at large.
I like this post, and was thinking that God is so patient, and so loving, and He gave us his only begotten son as the cure to all of the world's ills. He has not left us comfortless, and has also given us the Holy Spirit. It is up to mankind to understand the depth of the wisdom of God, even though God does not directly intervene in men's ways today, He has given us the hope of eternal salvation, and in spite of what man may say about God 'being dead' it just is not so! God restored hope to mankind by the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. All things will be put right all in God's time.
And so, we watch and wait for that glorious future time.
love and light to you!
