"I have seen the task which God has given the sons of men with which to occupy themselves. He ( God ) has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart ..." Ecclesiastes 3: 10,11
In June 2016 we sold Cedar Pond and moved over the mountains and far away. We now live in Deer Park , WA where the weather is a bit more extreme than Cedar Pond's and in spite of the challenges we're rejoicing in life in our new home with field and forest just outside our back door. God is so good to us !

Marking the Rhythm of Autumn's End
Gladys Taber of Stillmeadow says this about November ~ " But now the wind has a mournful sound , marking the rhythm of autumn's end. The first beat of winter is not yet here , and country folk tend to spend extra time doing chores or puttering, just to be out of doors. " Yes, there is a definite change of season here marked by 3 days of constant rain. The autumn leaves have been washed out of the trees by nature's showers. The days are not too cold, but the chill in the air requires a light jacket or sweater. Perfect for a walk on country paths and roads. Perfect for a walk around Cedar Pond with grandchildren and an old red dog.

I can almost feel being there. Aaaahhh! Enjoy and thanks for sharing photo and thoughts.
It is very warm and humid down here. Does NOT feel like fall/winter at all.
Happy November dear Kathy ~ FlowerLady
Beautiful post and photo, Kathy. My fav time of the year.
What a lovely quote and one I am in harmony with. Walking on leaf covered roads and basking in the sun as much as possible before our world turns white.
So lovely, and Gladys Tabor always knows how to describe the seasons doesn't she. I am enjoying your photo, as we are still waiting for autumn weather to make its beginning here; summer seems to want to hang on endlessly. I would love some real autumn weather for a change!
It is such a beautiful scene. Wonderful photo.
I think I need a nice November walk this week! Lovely scene!
Gladys Tabor is a favorite; I well remember reading her posts in Ladies Home Journal
I had no idea she wrote 59 books! I'm going to have to step up my search for the rest of her books.
Yesterday, I had a small break on the back porch. Just sat and watched the kitten play, the dogs chew their bones and the horses talk over the fence.
It was lovely!
That is a wonderful photo, Kathy.
