Newer song by Randy Newman (oddly enough since he is hardly considered a spiritual songwriter)
same sentiment - this is NOT our home.
"Oh this world is dear to me
But Heaven is my home
This is where I long to be
But Heaven is my home"

By the way - loved your blog post - Tennessee Ernie Ford was always a favorite in our house when I was growing up.

Howdy-do on a Sunday evening to you, friend! Gotta love that old-time feeling you get from Tennessee Ernie Ford. They don't sing songs like they used to. Loved it!

I have kind of "re-discovered" Tennessee Ernie Ford and been appreciating his singing, show, and humor via YouTube.

LindaSue, I also listened to the version you mentioned. I think Selah's version is my favorite now, but I had already posted it.And Vickie, they sing songs pretty well now, but there is something about the older masters of such songs that just tugs my heart and brings down the tears.
