A closer look at the back of our new home. We moved to a home half the size of our home at Cedar Pond but with 21 more acres of land. Plus, this cozy home is tucked into a valley below beautiful hills and mountains .
My Jacob Sheep have pasture. Acres of pasture !
The weather is more extreme here. The winters are colder, the summers are hotter.
We have a few acres of forest too , forest with wild turkeys, deer, pheasant, cougars, coyotes, and bears. Most of them are seen frequently from our living room windows. ( pic of husband and 2 of our dogs walking through our forest.)
The move was a lot of hard work but the most frustrating part of moving has been getting our e-mail changed and receiving e-mails. As soon as we disconnected our phone line at Cedar Pond we lost every single e-mail contact and any e-mails sent to me since June 15th are lost to us. ( Don't ever make your main e-mail through your local land line phone provider if it is important to keep your e-mail contacts ! ) I am still in the process of updating so many important contacts and very often after a day of hard physical work outdoors I am simply too tired to fight with the internet. That's my excuse for not blogging for so long. That and the fact I did not have dependable internet until September.
Thank-you to those who e-mailed me and missed me, you touched my heart. I think I've successfully updated my blogs and am excited to get back to blogging. I know I've missed a lot and can't wait to see what's been going on in blog land with my friends the last few months !

How wonderful to read this post of yours!!!! I'm glad you are all safely there at your new home and enjoying getting to know your surroundings and settling in. I look forward to reading about and seeing pictures of everything there at Laughing Dove Farm.
Happy Christmas holidays to you ~ Love & hugs ~ FlowerLady
So good to hear from you! You are safe and sheltered in the land that God has given you. You are truly blessed.
Your post showed up at the top of my feed this morning! Boy was I excited! What a beautiful place, though I'm not to excited about the lions, tigers and bears. :D
Internet is the most wonderful mess! Looking forward to hearing more and catching up with you for the last few months.
In the meantime let us wish you a Happy and Blessed Christmas~
Your new place is very nice as are all the pictures. The sheep will really enjoy all their space in the field. The scenery around your farm is absolutely gorgeous. That is a beautiful snow, I wish we could have snow like that but we mostly get ice and freezing rain where I live. Enjoy your new place. Hugs, Maggie
I think that I had just found you before your move, then lost you again. So glad you're back. Your new place is beautiful. Hope to see more pics and posts soon!
HI Kathy!!!
Your new home looks wonderful! It sounds quite perfect for you. So sorry to hear about losing your email contacts. That happened to me a few years ago. It is quite frustrating. Glad to see you are back to blogging.
Yippee! How good to see you pop up in my feedly again. Glad that you are getting things sorted out at your new home. We drive through Deer Park every time we head to our son's and dil's. They are moving these days to Colville from Chewelah. Their new property is 21 acres. What a time of year to move...
So have you bought your cans of bear spray?
I was so happy to see this post today!! I put out your little sheep a couple weeks ago, and have wondered how you were doing and if you would be back to blogging. So glad you are. Your new homestead looks wonderful. Can't wait to hear more about it all. xo Deborah
Hi Kathy, What a beautiful new home/acreage you have and I love the name you have given it! I am so very happy for you and look forward to hearing/seeing more! xo
Beauty is balm to the soul - you've moved from one beautiful spot to another - each different but all created by the One true Creator. WOW a hayfield - now that's what a livestock owner can really appreciate!
I'm so excited to see a new post pop up on my blogroll - welcome back, you've been missed!! Best of luck in your new home, no doubt it is a ton of hard work but also a wonderful new adventure! Happy Holidays to you!!
I'm glad to see you back! Your new property is so pretty. I hope you've settled in and can enjoy the season.
So nice to see you pop up with an update Kathy, I have been watching for a post but knew the move would keep you busy. It's a happy realization that your sheep have lots of room and places to graze now and your home looks picture perfect tucked in by the trees.
Looking forward to more photos and news of the new location, especially how the farm name came to be.
Enjoy your new home! Sounds like the sheep will be :)
Oh how beautiful! Always good to have more land...and yours is quite pretty. I don't know about the extreme cold, but I bet you will get used to it quickly. Have a blessed weekend!
Your new home is beautiful! I love all the pasture land too! So glad you're back to blogging. You have been missing from my blog list...something stupid I did and accidentally deleted everyone. Glad to find you again. Henny
Hi KathyB... Glad to see you in my feed. Your property looks beautiful and your sheep are going to love it there. Glad you are back and safe and sound. Have the merriest of Christmas's. Hugs, LJ
Welcome back Kathy. So pleased you are settling into your new home so well. I'm looking forward to reading your future posts.
Welcome back. I thought you might have dropped blogging for good. Still, I checked back every so often just to be sure. I am looking forward to watching Laughing Dove Farm develop into the wonderland that you made of Cedar Pond. With your lovely forest and hills, you could let them do all the work.
I've been so busy I've missed out on some blogging. And when I saw your blog at the top of my list I was surprised!!! So I had to pop in and say Hi, Happy New Year and Congratulations! And of course go back and see what I've missed. I'm going to get caught up now. Can't wait to see what you've been up to. Your sheep look happy by the way!
