In June 2016 we sold Cedar Pond and moved over the mountains and far away. We now live in Deer Park , WA where the weather is a bit more extreme than Cedar Pond's and in spite of the challenges we're rejoicing in life in our new home with field and forest just outside our back door. God is so good to us !
Not having any children, I can't imagine living in the day-to-day terror of having a son in the service. Just so glad that your son is back home safe and sound.
What a wonderful thing. Our daughter has just joined the Navy. She is in California right now, and just called to tell us she will be learning the Arabic language. She has gotten and interpreters job. Although she has a year in California, she will soon go to Arabic soil to do her job. This makes me heartsick. I would have never thought that our daughter out of all our children would have chosen to go into the military. I am so glad you got your son back safe. Blessings, Kathleen
Kathleen ,wow ! I have a young niece in the Navy and she is serving in Cuba...I have a friend whose daughter is serving her last year in the USMC and she was in Iraq, Europe and other places where she was used with her special training in language and martial arts...I think the women are not usually in what we would consider dangerous places, if that is any consolation. But as we all know, they are away from us in a far away land, and also, in God's hands. It is comforting to know you and she will be looking at the same moon, and sunrises....and the same God who sees is, sees her at the same time ! Prayers for you and yours ! She will learn a lot ! And so will you .

Noble Pig, when I view the pictures of your beautiful sons and the stories you tell that show the love you all have for each other, I am reminded of the relationship I have with my 2 sons, and how very precious our time together was in their childhood, and how much more wonderful to have a relationship with our sons, who are MEN...I know you and the Wild Boar have so much treasure to come !
