Chintz Teacup, Snowy Day Dreaming

It snowed yesterday, today, and is supposed to snow tomorrow and the next day. The weather man said our particular area can look forward to 8 to 10 inches of snow. Since I have a warm home and a full pantry, I have the luxury of looking forward to snow days with a happy heart.I filled my teacup not with tea, but my choice of hot beverage, good coffee with real cream ( no just plain milk or half-in-half for me thank-you ) . I then hummed as I looked through my stash of fabric and dreamed about what kind of quilt I might make with these prints.
This tea / coffee cup shows colors very much like the fabric I have pulled out .
This teacup is one of a set of 4, each one is a different chintz pattern and color. The teal chintz is my favorite though, and I have already used it often. It just makes me happy.
I have grown to like these colors more and more. I am thinking of making a quilt for our bedroom of these colors, but first I have to collect quite a bit more fabric (oh fun!) I will take my time doing this all the while thinking about just what quilt pattern would be most pleasing. It really is a rare time to be home bound with such beauty outside and pleasant ways to spend my time indoors. I wish my husband could stay home today too, I will pray for his safety while he drives to work along with all the people who don't know how to drive in the snow and ice .
Did I mention the snow? Oh yes, snowy day dreaming. Please check out the blogs listed below for other Tea Time Tuesday happenings ! "Why not seize the pleasure at once? How often is happiness destroyed by preparation, foolish preparation." Jane Austen

You have me beat in the snow department AND the beautiful cup collecting! But I do love my coffee with good flavors or real cream. And snowy days inside warm and cozy. I still have my tree up!

Snow days sound so wonderful right now. We are having a warm spell right now (surprise, surprise)but that is nice too since I've been wanting to spend a lot of time outside. Coffee with cream is my favorite beverage too-and I love the idea of working on a quilt. Maybe I'll make one for my son and his soon-to-be-wife. Enjoy these special days.

Hard for me to imagine snow days here in south Texas. It sounds like a wonderful time to be home bound and looking out the windows at that gorgeous view.

The fabric and tea cups are so beautiful! I love the pattern and colors on both.

What a lovely teacup and saucer and lovely snow picture. No snow here today just rain since it's 48 degrees right now.

Blessings,

Hi Kathy, Your snow picture is so pretty. A quilt is a lovely project to dream about on just such a day, while sipping good, hot coffee. Do you purchase fabric online or do you have a local source?
Praying that your husband has safe travel today. Enjoy the stillness of a beautiful day.

Aw, Kathy, I'm envious! I have my AC on at home and I'm at work today! Staying at one's cozy home with plenty of what you need and enjoy sounds great to me! Your cup matches that fabric perfectly. You should do one of those cup and saucer quilts and use that pretty floral for your c/s! Such inspiration! Have fun!

It's surprising how much the fabric and cup match! They are both beautiful. I hope you enjoy your tea and quilt dreams today. Your snow picture is quite lovely and peaceful.

Your Gracie China cup is so romantic! Chintz always is isn't it!
But yours is also a beautiful coloring too! I have a couple of Gracie China and love using them.
If I drank coffee I would only use a real tea cup too!
The fabric is gorgeous as well. I can see how beautiful your quilt will be just looking at them laid out together. I hope you share it with us when you are done.
Hugs,
Terri

Kathy, what a lovely scene and so glad you're enjoying the day. Our snow melted today; temps in the 40's or 50's. It's lovely having a respite from the cold, especially the wind. At the worst, it was 45F above in my bedroom, thank God for flannel sheets, gowns and 4 dogs!

That chintz tea cup is just lovely!
Although it's winter time here in Portugal, too, I don't have snow around and today I had a sunny afternoon fit for gardening.
But snow landscapes have always fascinated me!
Thanks for sharing and thanks for your visit.

Debbie, we have more snow than anticipated today, but it will be melting soon and you will have the most snow, and keep it longer too.
I like my coffee just black usually, but on occasion I add cream and then my coffee is like dessert!

Southern Comfort, I hope you post pictures if you make them a quilt.

Dolores,It is fun being snow-bound today. My husband is even home , a snow day for grown-ups!

Amy, your weather is our usual winter weather...ours is supposed to be back to that by the weekend.

Maple Lane, I buy my fabric a yard or two at a time at Joann's Fabrics, using my 40 to 50% off coupons. I only go to Joann's when I am in the area, about once a month or less.( saves me money , no impulse shopping when I plan my trips)

Vickie, that is a great idea! I will think about a cup and saucer quilt.AC on ? Our weather is VERY different, that is also why you harvest so many fresh vegetables from your garden the same time things are just beginning to sprout around here.

Sherry, thank-you. I enjoyed visiting your blog.

Kathleen, it was a surprise for me to see snow in your neck of the country. Your pictures were so beautiful too.

Daisy, I should have bought enough of that fabric to make a tablecloth. But maybe a tea cozy is a good idea with that particular batch of fabric...

Terri, thank-you. I could not help but think of your beautiful teacups when I saw this fabric...you have so many in this color scheme that I just love.

Que Bella (Michelle), that is what I have been doing, in between some pleasant weaving and sewing. I love being home-bound!

Sandra, yes! Flannel sheets, flannel p.j.s and snuggling dogs and cats.~

Maria, thank-you.A warm day for gardening sounds very nice! My garden needs it,but a snow day is a good excuse to stay indoors and I like that too.

Zaa, I was thinking that too. I might have to make sure I buy more of it the next time I go to the fabric store. Just the 1 yard I have isn't enough..a tea cozy would be nice too. Thank-you.

rkbsnana, I think we would have a very nice teatime together! Thank-you.

Peregrine Blue, you are going to your beloved Chile again? I am looking forward to seeing pictures of your time there on your blog. ( Yes, the fire is lit and instead of scones there is a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting )

Thank you for stopping by my blog and for kind words. I know I'll be doing better soon, I was just feeling sorry. Jesus is my healer and I am leaning on him right now. I so look forward to snow days, we haven't had many around here lately(Colorado Springs.) Your tea/coffee cups are beautiful. I love chintz. Again thanks for visiting my blog.

Think we go through color changes that make us smile and cozy up satisfied.

Still waiting for a snow day...maybe a snow week-end with no place to go but stay home and enjoy home.

God bless,

I love your pretty chintz teacup! Such a gorgeous pattern and so is the fabric. What a lovely quilt it will make. So nice to have you join me for tea. Thanks for sharing and enjoy the rest of your week.

I enjoy the few pieces of Chintz that I have. I'll bet your coffee tastes so much better for being drunk from such a pretty cup. I love that fabric too!
