Thursday Tea In The Garden

Thursday tea in the herb garden is a time of sitting quietly, sipping the herb tea I brewed in my pink teapot, eating the crackers smothered in cream cheese blended with chopped chives and chive blossoms from this very garden while soaking up the sights, sounds and scents of spring in full bloom.
"Tea is quiet and our thirst for tea is never far from our craving for beauty ." James Norwood Pratt
"Doing nothing is respectable at tea. " Sasaki Sanmi
After a generous tea time I walked around Cedar Pond checking out the gardens as I watered them. The garden shown above is the vegetable garden my husband plants and tends. The garlic, onions, strawberries , and peas are coming along quite nicely. The slugs have been giving him a hard time with the beans and lettuces. He has to re-plant them, dang those slugs.
Our rhododendrons are amazing to see from a distance. These bushes are taller than me !
"Tea is a divine herb." Xu Guangqi

"Perhaps it is while drinking tea that I most of all enjoy the sense of leisure. " George Gissing
Tea in my gardens is a blessing and a pleasure I don't take for granted. All I need do is brew a pot of my favorite tea , choose a pretty teacup, take them to the garden ,forget the weeding and garden chores for a short while , sit down and enjoy !

Tea-Party Memories

She loves her tea sweet !

This teacup is special to me. I have precious memories of a tea-party my youngest granddaughter & I had together almost 4 years ago. I can still picture her tiny hands stirring the sugar into her tea and watching her drink every drop of the sugary syrup she made only to have her teacup re-filled and carefully repeat the process. To see the original blog post click here*.

The tea-time Tuesdays have inspired me to make time for many tea-parties with my grandchildren over the years. As I was looking over some of my tea-time posts I realized we made many precious memories together and had a lot of fun creating our tea parties. Thank-you ladies who host this day every week and all of you who share your tea-cups, tea parties, and generous support of one another through blogging.

These ladies are hosting blog parties I enjoy, celebrating all things tea !

Cairo TeaCup ~ TeaTime Tuesday

This teacup was one offered to me by my husband's sisters as we cleaned up their parent's home for the new residents. I had never noticed this teacup before but was immediately smitten.I even made myself some tea to sip from her ( for I think of this cup as "her") when I took a break.
Moths. Have you ever seen moths on a teacup before?
This teacup is feminine in all the right ways, but not too feminine.

By the term "not too feminine" I think I mean the teacup embraces nature and all I love about the world God created without being fussy. The design has moths, big and gawky Asiatic birds,
and beetles !I have never seen beetles on any other china pattern. Most certainly NOT too feminine.Right up my alley though, as I spent a great part of my childhood looking for and capturing insects, lizards, turtles, frogs, salamanders, and keeping pets that make many of my friends scream and run the other way...quickly. I still help my grandchildren find frogs around Cedar Pond, and am a great admirer of dragonflies. Any teacups celebrating dragonflies?
The design is Cairo by Coalport.I have been trying to research this pattern and see it comes in not only this color, but blue, green, and gold..maybe more.I could not find any history on the design or why it is called Cairo.
Look at the treat my husband brought home for me.A chocolate covered strawberry. A pot of green tea, and an early Valentine treat for me!

Oh, I really do love this teacup!

Thank-you for joining me for today's celebration of teacups and all things tea.I am linking up with the ladies listed below for Tea Time Tuesday, and they are lovely hostesses. Please click onto their names and enjoy the teacups, table-settings,recipes and ruminations on tea time from all over the world.  ~

She Chose This Teacup ~ O Happy Day !

She chose this teacup. I laid out the teacups and the pot of peppermint tea and told her to choose her teacup. This delicate pink and white teacup is very simple, and I believe, elegant. I found it at a thrift store for $5.00. My granddaughter and I had the whole day to ourselves, and what a sweetly happy day it was. This 4th of 6 granddaughters is a very happy little girl and she brings her big smile and happiness with her. She is quick to cuddle her grandma and share whatever is going on in her life. We spent the day at a few places that especially please her, but her favorite place besides her own home is MY home!
The simplicity of this Royal Stafford bone china teacup appeals to me. The inside of the cup and part of the saucer is a very pale pink , the photograph does not do it justice.
My granddaughter and I drank a total of 3 pots of peppermint tea. She likes a lot of sugar in her tea and I think she also likes the sound of the tiny silver spoon clinking against the china as she stirs the sugar in. I put a program on T.V. for her to watch as she snuggled on the sofa and sipped her tea. It was raining outside, we were warm and happy inside. " Pleasure is spread through the earth In stray gifts to be claimed by whoever shall find." William Wordsworth
"If you are not happy here & now, you never will be." Taisen Deshimaru "What a wonderful life I've had ! I only wish I'd realized it sooner." Colette
"If you search the world for happiness, you may find it in the end, for the world is round and will lead you back to your door." Robert Brault Surely you all know someone to share a cup of tea and a smile with. Maybe someone who can use a word of encouragement with their tea, or someone who'll encourage you. A friendly cup of tea is so simple, yet offers more to the soul than words can express. Share a cup of tea with the ladies listed below and take away some good cheer , maybe a recipe or two, an idea for your own tea time with a loved one. Remember, no matter your circumstance, you are blessed ! I know one of my great blessings, a blessing often taken for granted, is having an abundance of very precious people in my life to share a cup of tea or coffee with. People who share their lives generously with me, people who take time to be uplifting and encouraging.God is so good to me. Are there special people in your life you can encourage? Are there special people in your life who encourage you? Praise God for them all ! "Every now and then, when the world sits just right, a gentle breath of heaven fills my soul with delight..." Hazelmarie 'Mattie' Elliot
