They Jump !

I have a very similar story to the little drama shown below. Only it was my husband who was going to save me from a very big wolf spider that had been on the wall all evening. My husband worked swing shift at the time and I watched and checked on that spider all night just waiting for my husband to come home and get rid of it. I would not attempt this myself because you know, spiders can see you with all those eyes, I know this because I have watched their eyes follow me, and there is this--spiders jump! Well, my brave husband came home and I showed him the spider I had been observing all night. My husband laughed at me for being so silly and not taking care of this myself. Then he got a container to take care of it, climbed onto the couch to reach it and IT JUMPED RIGHT AT HIM! I did not know my husband could scream like that. In fact I have never heard him scream like that before or since. The spider scrambled under the sofa where my husband decided it could be left alone....and I never did know where that spider went but you can bet I did not sit on the sofa for quite awhile and for sure did not allow my naked feet to hang below the cushions. A spider like that could easily be waiting for a tasty chunk of foot or toe.

The video was hilarous. What is so funny about someone catching a spider and being attacked by the spider? The little girl at the end saying,"Daddy, I told you to not catch the spider" was priceless. Still laughing.

Oh my gosh, Kathy! That was a BIG spider in that video! I'd be terrified if I found one that big in my house. I wouldn't be trying to catch one like that. I'd be trying to hit it with something. Gave me the shivers just seeing that thing. The story about your hubby coming to your rescue was cute. HA! I wouldn't have wanted to sit on that couch for a while either!

My daughter used to say that they were "sneaking up on me" when she was really little. Luckily spiders don't worry me much. Those creepy walking sticks do though.

I'm still laughing at that guy with his GLAD container and how he scurries off with it on his foot at the end. Is that kid funny or what? Thanks for starting my day with a zinger!

Hilarious!

Spiders do not affect me. Moving creatures that have no legs do.

I hope your "friend" left for good. Ha!

Too funny! I wish I had video of the night Bill tried to shoo a praying mantis out of the foyer in our apartment building...especially hilarious because they're harmless. He went after it with a broom, except he didn't know they could fly. And I'm pretty sure NO one knew Bill could scream like that. :-D

Jim screaming over that spider, don't you wish sometimes that we could have had video footage of some of the stories we have!

That video and your story are so funny! What the heck was the guy in the video thinking? I couldn't rest knowing a wolf spider was loose under the sofa. When they are on the ceiling above you . . now, that is scary. I had that happen on our porch. I walked out, looked up (who knows why) and I saw a huge tarantula on the ceiling. I screamed and ran out to the grass and I was stuck outside. I thought it could jump (now I know I was right) and I would not walk under that thing again. I was banging on the windows to get my son to open the garage for me. My husband got it down with a stick when he got home and released it on the hill.

Thanks for the laugh!

I despise spiders in the house. Outside they are just find but inside the house, I hate them. Usually, I'll go get a cat and show them the spider; that works most of the time. When that doesn't work, I go get Dave...or scream for Dave...and that works too.

Ha ha! I love all these comments! Fear of spiders seems pretty universal, and yes, spiders outside don't bother me much if I manage not to walk through a web and get one in my face.( Leslie,I have used another door when there was a big wolf spider at the front door) Sometimes when I walk through a web I have to come indoors and remove my clothes and brush my hair to make sure the spider is not lurking anywhere on me.But spiders in the house....they have to go!

Oh how funny and am equally terrified when they get away. I just know they will be in hair or crawling on my face when I sleep...ugh.

Ha ha! My poor husband, he's taking grief over this I tell you. He really is my protector, but that spider DID get the best of both of us that night.

I like the way the guy in the video starts out like he is really in the know about spiders ,a fearless spider hunter, which makes this way more funny when you see what happens!
