~A glorius autumn day at Grandma and Grandpa's!~~Grandpa and grandchildren are raking the bright autumn leaves.~
~They might even need more leaves than are on the ground, let's help a few more fall so they can be raked into a very large.....
In June 2016 we sold Cedar Pond and moved over the mountains and far away. We now live in Deer Park , WA where the weather is a bit more extreme than Cedar Pond's and in spite of the challenges we're rejoicing in life in our new home with field and forest just outside our back door. God is so good to us !

Oh what precious grandchildren. Your pictures bring back lots of happy memories from childhood. Thanks for sharing.
Very sweet! I love the last photo best---such a bright, cheery smile! :D
I love this post!!! Hey, we've got bunches of leaves on our yard. Do they need a fall job? :)
What sweet faces and what a fun way to make work turn out to be play! Do you compost the leaves or burn? (I ask since we don't do either - we wait for the wind to take them )
I still love jumping in leaves too. Tell them to make a big pile, and I will come over and jump in them.
Gorgeous kids!
What lovely grandchildren you have. And it must be a joy to watch them play like that. I found out not long ago that I am going to be a Grandmother for the first time and I CAN'T WAIT. Thanks for sharing.
Oh my! Now that's a day memories are made of.
note to self: grandchildren are a great loophole in child labor laws.
Definitely a past time children love! What a great day they had.
Thanks Mildred, some of my best memories as a child were of playing in the leaves in our homes ( I was an Army brat ) in New England...that's THE place for beautiful fall color.
Daisy, the last picture is of the grandchild who is rarely without a smile...she is known for her good nature and a bit of impishness thrown in.
Wilson's , I noticed your blog was about the fall clean up too...but you won't need help, you've got some of your own to grow. ( help)
Linda Sue, we feed a lot of the leaves to the sheep. They LOVE Maple leaves especially. If we don't get around to clean up my Hubby mows them and throws that into the compost pile.
Jo, they played with the leaves all day. Who needs play equipment ?
Shadow Mountain Jacobs...CONGRATULATIONS ! Grandchildren and lambs , can life get any better ...why yes it can, with MORE grandchildren and lambs !
Pamela, yes, sweet memories. And thanks to Blogger I can record and hopefully keep the memories fresh.
jr...what, you didn't realize that when you were younger ? You are planning for your parent's retirement , aren't you ?
Noble Pig, you are going to be raising your sons in one of the BEST places in the world...the country, with woods, fields, a place where boys thrive , leaf piles galore...and worms and frogs, and.... Best thing we ever did was move to the country when our kids were young!
Oh, that reminds me of how we used to go to the parks with the Poseys and when we were little and destroy all the neatly raked piles! :-) And go hunting for chestnuts.
What more could you ever want!
Such sweet faces and a happy memory for them to think back on!!
Have you read the book Marley and Me by John Grogan? It's worth reading and be touched by this man and his amazing Lab!
