~~~Happy Birthday to Mr. Wooley's Grandpa !~~~~~~O.K. So our friend is NOT a feline Grandpa....but don't tell Mr.Wooley that. And don't tell Zuzu that he is not her Dad either. Those cats get a bit persnikety and super-sensitive when they feel they have been overlooked in importance and place in family. ( most cats feel the family exists for their benefit and pleasure anyway)
~~~Our friend David celebrates his birthday. He is getting on in years (ha ha ) so his daughter threw a surprise party for him and invited a few of us to celebrate with him and Mr.Wooley. "The years between 50 and 70 are the hardest. You are always being asked to do things , and yet you are not decrepit enough to turn them down." T.S. Eliot
In June 2016 we sold Cedar Pond and moved over the mountains and far away. We now live in Deer Park , WA where the weather is a bit more extreme than Cedar Pond's and in spite of the challenges we're rejoicing in life in our new home with field and forest just outside our back door. God is so good to us !

Mr.Wooley's Grandpa Has A Birthday !
~~~Mr.Wooley checks out the gifts to see which of them should be left behind for his pleasure. "Aging seems to be the only available way to live a long life." Daniel Francois Esprit Auber
~~~Hmmm....., I think Mr. Wooley found a gift to his liking. I wonder if he can operate a corkscrew ? "Old age is like everything else. To make a success of it , you've got to start young." Fred Astaire
~~~"I will never be an old man. To me old age is always 15 years older than I am." Bertrand Russell~ Happy Birthday to you David !~ "You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream." Les Brown
It's a good thing Mr Wooley cant work the corkscrew.
You know , Ebet, it IS a good thing he cannot operate a corkscrew...then we just might have to locate a chapter of feline alcoholics anonymous.....but of course, if he could operate a corkscrew, who knows, he might be blogging. Oops, he is !
Happy Birthday to David!
Mr. Wooley is so funny! Cats always want to be right in the midst of what is going on, don't they. And you're right, Kathy. They think everything that is done is done for their benefit not for anyone else's.
Happy Birthday to a young whippersnapper (from a woman who turned 60 in February of this year)come on in the water's are fine! Looks like a fine (if somewhat feline) celebration!
Happy Birthday yung un'....what a cake that is....mmmmm.
I absolutely love the quotes on your blog.
Happy Birthday to Mr. Wooley's Grandpa. :-)
Now about that cake.... Did you save me a piece?
Daisy, Mr. Wooley IS funny, and entertaining, but not as entertaining as MY Miss Marple!
Linda Sue, you're 60 ?!? You're still enjoying life ? You're not over the hill ? Just kidding, I'm getting close myself and think life is getting more interesting ! Thanks for the good words.
Noble Pig and Jo, it was a yummy cheesecake and every bit has been eaten , I think David's daughter knows what he likes.
To all interested, I have mastered the art of the corkscrew. Beware. I have found my feline toes quite flexible and handy.
Although, the taste of "wine" is not as appealing to me as the lovely texture and aroma of catnip. My humans have kept that in short supply...I will have to take care of that issue.........
