Granddaughters, The Crown of Grandparents

~~~We gathered together for a meal at the table the way " real families do", said our # 1 Granddaughter. A meal around the table means a lot to her, and this last year and a half of tears and grief beyond anything Hubby and I could ever have imagined we could live through, not to mention our oldest son who has lost EVERYTHING except his daughters and the love and support of praying family and friends, well, a meal around the table as a family is priceless !
~~~# 4 Granddaughter is helping bake the bread for dinner with us, her great grandparents , and her Great Aunt. She likes baking bread !~~~
~~~#1 Granddaughter is so excited to help bake the bread for the meal! ~~~
~~~ The table is set, the candle is lit. We have home made bread, chicken and rice, and coleslaw made from carrots from our garden and cabbage from Uncle and Auntie's garden. Dinner is ready !~~~
~~~Just look at that bread ! Didn't the girls do a wonderful job of helping bake the bread ? ~~~
~~~We gather together as a family, this is the answer to many , many tearful prayers. This is the answer to the prayers so many have petitioned our Father in Heaven for mercy for 4 little girls and a man who only wanted to serve God, our country, and be a great Dad to his beloved daughters.~~~
~~~Great-Grandma and her little great-granddaughter , our #6 granddaughter.~~~
~~~#4 granddaughter was so worn out by all the activity and excitement of the last few days that she slept through dinner. And she helped bake the bread. Oh well, she and I were up late and she had a late snack of the bread she helped bake. Today the family heads to Eastern Washington where they will live on a farm with our youngest son and his wife. They will go to a small rural school, they will have horses to ride and care for, kittens in the barn to check up on, dogs to help feed, sports to engage in and family to uphold them in all things every child SHOULD have !
~~~"Grandchildren are the crown of grandparents and the glory of sons is their father." Proverbs 17 : 6
What a wonderful blessing that you could all be together and share in preparing and enjoying this meal, Kathy. Your grand daughters are precious and adorable--though I'm sure you already know that! ;) I hope happier times are ahead for your family. :)
Thank you yet again for sharing your life with us. What adorable pictures of the granddaughters making bread and then there's the entire family sharing a meal.
What a happy life is in store for the girls! Living on a farm and learning to care for animals will enrich their lives so very, very much.
What a blessing! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives through all of this. You have given us the opportunity to see God's Grace at work first hand.
Once again thanks and we will continue to pray.
What a beautiful post. The picture of the sleeping child says it all. In her own happiness she felt content to sleep off the excitement! Love it.
I am dancing through my housecleaning today! What a gracious God we serve. Your blessing and answer to prayer is ours as well. I am reminded of the psalmist who said "two things I know of my God; that He is strong and He is loving" We praise Him with you!
Daisy and Pamela,Wilson Clan, Gooseshooter,and Noble Pig, yes, aren't all our children and grandchildren adorable, but of course mine are the most adorable !There is something so special about baking bread and sharing a family meal..it really is a spiritual moment in time. Also, when my Hubby's father, the girls' great- grandfather can barely keep himself from weeping with joy, relief and happiness, what can I say ? Nothing ! He speaks volumes in his love and worry and prayer for us all !
Lisa, thank-you for being a big part of the solution to the happy reunion !
Fraziers, your heartfelt prayers and tears are beyond my capacity for words of thankfulness....to all your prayer partners, our love and hope rests in the only true hope, Jesus ! Thank-you....
Megan, thanks, and I will e-mail you this comfort food recipe that is easy ans always a favorite !
Again, my heartfelt thanks to all of you who responded to this blog that I cannot re-read without tears of joy, relief, and thankfulness ! KathyB.
You give me such hope for our country - recently several of our church family have torn apart their homes and it grieves me so (I've been divorced so this is not a self righteous statement). With children involved - every decision must be bathed in prayer. Obviously your fine son and his beautiful girls have landed in the soft spot God prepared for them. On a frivolous note - I LOVE your tablecloth!
